StressChecker, to understand a lot more about your susceptibility to stress and what to change.

Why use the StressChecker? The StressChecker has been developed for people who are interested in gaining greater insights into the dos and don’ts for a happy, healthy and relaxed way of living. The StressChecker enables you to test the condition and responses of your autonomic nervous system simply and objectively. This sensitive biofeedback device demonstrates how work, family, lifestyle and – often irrational – preconditioned thoughts and attitudes are affecting your stress level.

The primary therapeutic and educational value of using the StressChecker lies in proactive (self) checking. You will be able to check your stress levels and your ability to cope with potential overload at any time of the day, whether at work or at home.

MAIN USES

Function 1. Periodic Measurement

On the one hand, the periodic measurement is intended as a preventative measure to ensure that your everyday life is not having a negative impact on your vitality. On the other hand, if your ability to recover is under a certain amount of pressure, you can use a periodic check to establish whether a particular change in your lifestyle is having the desired positive effect.

Details of the measurement

The images below show the measurement results of people of the same age and gender in comparison with the average values (indicated by the yellow lines). Ideally, your measured heart rate (blue line) should be on or below the yellow line. Meanwhile, your measured HRV (blue line) should be on or above the yellow line. The higher the average HRV, the better your autonomic nervous system is working.

RELAX INDEX EVOLUTION

All measurement results are saved and progression over time can be reviewed under ‘Relax Index Evolution’.

Function 2. Experimenting

You can try out how easy or difficult it is to influence you with the program sections “Specific Measurement” and “Experimenting Freely”.

You can try out how easy or difficult it is to influence you with the program sections “Specific Measurement” and “Free Experimentation”.
Function 2a. Experimenting Freely

With this function you can gain a real-time insight into your stress level. In contrast to the Periodic Measurement, you do not need to wait three minutes to learn the score. Instead, you can see how your stress level continually reacts to how tense you are at that precise moment. This function enables you to establish the direct impact that a calm breathing technique has on you, for example, or the effects of meditation or thinking positive thoughts.

Function 2b. Specific Measurement

In the case of a ‘Specific Measurement’, you take a number of three-minute readings under various circumstances and/or after certain activities and compares your scores with other specific measurements. For instance, you might want to explore how different situations – such as a walk in the woods, a tough meeting at work or a relaxing massage – affect your well-being.

Since you can save each of these different readings under its own title, they can be referred to and compared to each other in the future. If you wish, the readings can also be shown to other people whenever you like.

If you are an active sportsperson, you can measure the impact of your training schedule on the ability to recover. You are able to decide on a day-to-day basis what will best help to achieve optimum results from your training.

Profiles

You can set up profiles for several different people like your family members, friends and colleagues and the results of each person’s checks are saved separately. This makes it easy for therapists, personal coaches and sports/fitness trainers to use it for their customers.
