Healthy Lifestyle Monitor - Sustainable Behavior Change

Achieve your goals by getting
to know yourself

The Healthy Lifestyle Monitor makes your patterns visible — so you can work purposefully on more quality of life.

You don't have to believe anything. You just have to learn to see.

What if you could navigate more independently?

Not dependent on the next coach, app or method — but trusting your own compass. Our tools help you see patterns. The goal is for you to learn to navigate yourself.

"Behavior cannot be separated from identity." This is the core of the Columbus Catalyst Code — our practice-oriented view on behavior change and identity awareness.

Why now?

The need for a resilient approach to life is greater now than ever. Modern society presents us with unprecedented challenges.

Byung-Chul Han

Philosopher — The Burnout Society

We live in an achievement society where we exploit ourselves. Burnout and depression are not diseases from outside, but "infarcts" from within.

Hartmut Rosa

Sociologist — Acceleration & Resonance

Modern society forces constant acceleration. The result is alienation: we lose contact with ourselves.

And then there's AI

Artificial intelligence amplifies both problems. The optimization pressure increases — AI can always do it better. But AI can also be an ally: making patterns visible, analyzing connections.

In a world where AI can do more and more, the ability to navigate yourself doesn't become less important, but essential.

Sound familiar?

"I do everything 'right' — but still feel exhausted."

"I know what I should do, but I can't seem to stick with it."

"I'm tired of apps telling me what to do."

The HLM is not another coach telling you what to do. It's a mirror that helps you see yourself — so you can choose for yourself. Not dependent on a system, but navigating independently.

What is the Healthy Lifestyle Monitor?

The HLM is a scientifically based app that lets you monitor your own lifestyle daily in four areas: Body, Emotion, Thoughts and Conscience — your Inner Compass. Through daily measurements, you gain insight into patterns that enable real, sustainable behavior change.

Scaffolding, not a permanent building

The goal of the HLM is not for you to become dependent on the app. The goal is for you to learn to read your own Inner Compass — so you can eventually navigate yourself: resilient, flexible, independent. The tools support that process, they don't replace it.

A quiet confirmation

The Healthy Lifestyle Monitor is freely available in the app stores. Many people have now downloaded the app.

Some of them then went further of their own accord: by logging into the HLM portal and downloading the handbook.

Without obligations. Without sales pressure. Not because they had to, but because measuring raised questions — and questions led to deeper exploration.

How does the HLM work?

Measure → Choose focus → Adjust → Navigate independently

1

Measure

A few minutes each day: morning measurement and evening reflection. Your Inner Compass becomes visible. Simple, quick and effective.

2

Choose focus

The HLM visualizes trends and patterns. See which factors influence your energy, sleep and well-being. Choose one focus point — not everything at once.

3

Adjust

Experiment, measure the effect, adjust. Relapse isn't failure but information: what does this say about who you were in that moment?

4

Navigate independently

Until you can read your own compass — resilient, flexible, independent. The scaffolding can then come down.

Everything is connected

Take burnout. The doctor prescribes rest and refers you to a psychologist. But perhaps that burnout comes from months of too little sleep. And perhaps you sleep poorly because you're still working in the evenings. And perhaps you work evenings because you can't concentrate during the day due to fatigue. And perhaps you don't dare set boundaries because you're afraid of not being good enough. And perhaps that fear comes from tying your self-worth to performance.

Not a linear problem

This isn't a chain with one cause. It's a system of interconnected factors.

Four dimensions

Body, emotions, thoughts, conscience cannot be seen separately. Exhaustion manifests in all four.

Recognizing patterns

The HLM makes connections visible. You discover your patterns in your life.

Why this works

Not because we have better tricks. But because we look at behavior change differently.

Traditional approach

Treats behavior as a technical problem:

  • "Follow these steps"
  • "Use willpower"
  • "Don't give up"

Result: temporary change, then relapse. Because identity doesn't change along with it.

The CCC approach

Starts with identity:

  • "Who do you want to be?"
  • "What fits you?"
  • "What does this pattern tell you?"

Result: behavior that fits who you are naturally lasts longer.

The difference? Not willpower as the engine, but awareness. Not dependence on a method, but learning to navigate yourself. Not "I have to live healthier" but "I am someone who takes good care of themselves".

Doing your best isn't that easy

The deeper meaning touches the core of what we want to address.

"Doing your best" isn't just difficult in terms of effort. It's difficult because you never know if it's enough. Because you have to choose without certainty — and still take responsibility for that choice.

We're on a moving train. Stopping isn't an option. Waiting until we have all the information isn't either — that information never comes, and the train keeps moving.

That's not a reason for cynicism. It's a reason for humility and intention. We can't choose perfectly, but we can choose consciously.

The goal isn't to always make the right choice. The goal is knowing that you did your best — that you looked, listened, weighed and chose from integrity. That's all we can do. But it's enough.
